On March 20, 2021 Taylor students competed in the Indiana Collegiate Mathematics Competition. In this competition, students work in teams of two or three for two hours to solve as many of the eight contest problems as they can.
Here are the highlights:
- Taylor fielded five of the eighteen teams. (That’s a lot. Most other college and universities only had one or two teams each. Of the eight participating institutions, only Taylor and Purdue had five teams!)
- Our participants were Alexander McFarland, Ally Donnachie, Andrew Friesen, Anne Parker, Autumn Thompson, Caleb Fox, Grace Weeks, Iona Feins, Kaela Earhart, Katy O’Malley, Logan Tuckey, Lucy Wilson, Sarah Finlay, and Sean Parnell.
- Our top scoring team was Alexander McFarland, Andrew Friesen, and Caleb Fox, with a total of 63 points (out of 80 possible), putting them at sixth place overall—great job, guys!
Congratulations to each of our participating student for stretching their brains and becoming better problem solvers!
