Research Article Published by Taylor Alum Abigail Pyle with Dr. Eggleton

Research conducted in the Spring 2020 Geometry for Elementary Teachers course by Dr. Patrick Eggleton and then analyzed by Taylor alumni, Abigail Pyle and Clay VanderKolk, is now published in the HAMTE Crossroads Fall 2022 issue. The research reviewed approaches to help future elementary teachers to use the Effective Mathematics Teaching Strategies promoted by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Abby and Clay provided statistical analysis on both quantitative and qualitative measures related to different teaching practices. They presented the results at two conferences, for the Taylor mathematics department, and as a poster for the annual Celebration of Scholarship at Taylor. They are grateful to the Taylor Women’s Giving Circle who funded the analysis of the research.
